B3Living is 4th in Stonewall top 100 LGBT-friendly workplaces

Stonewall Top 100 Employers 2016, the definitive list of Britain's most LGBT-friendly workplaces have ranked local housing association B3Living 4th in a list of the top 100 employers in the UK.

This is a first-time appearance in the top 10 for B3Living since having placed at number 48 in 2015. They’ve become the highest placing housing association on the 2016 list, sitting 3 places below the MI5, who are 1st in this year’s index.

Showcasing the best employers for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender staff, the list is compiled from submissions to the workplace equality index, used by employers to create inclusive workplaces. Over 400 employers submitted entries to this year’s index, the highest number since the index first opened in 2005.

Luise Usiskin from Stonewall said: “B3Living have done an outstanding job, climbing 44 places since their first appearance in the top 100 in 2015. Consistent, rigorous policies, diverse routes for reporting bullying in the workplace as well as excellent, bespoke training on LGBT issues and multiple identities and very strong senior leadership are just some of the areas in which the organisation scored highly. They work brilliantly with their residents and have a consistent and dedicated approach to integrating equality, diversity and inclusion into every part of the business”.

John Giesen, B3Living’s Chief Executive said: “B3Living is really proud to have made it into the Stonewall Top 100 for a second year running. Most importantly we find that the work we do with Stonewall year on year, helps make us a better employer, with more engaged staff. And we believe that more engaged staff deliver better services to our customer. To have made number 4 in the list is truly amazing!”
