Saturday 23rd January marked the 10 year anniversary of B3Living.
B3Living, originally known as Broxbourne Housing Association, formed in 2006, following a housing stock transfer from Broxbourne Borough Council.
A stakeholder and partners event was held on Friday 22nd January at Zagara Italian restaurant in Hoddesdon, to thank all the people who’ve worked with B3Living since it began.
John Giesen, B3Living Chief Executive said: “As our business grew and the areas we operated in widened, we re-branded from Broxbourne Housing Association to B3living, making the switch over to our new name in 2012. At the same time, we expanded our aspiration to create ‘better homes, better communities and better business’. And this was the inspiration behind our name B3Living. The three ‘betters’ have helped us achieve our aspiration to create a financially sound business. And, crucially, have helped our residents reach their aspirations too.”
Stakeholders, partners, staff and residents celebrated at this year’s event with speeches from Chair of the B3Living board - Sandra Royer, Leader of the Council - Mark Mill-Bishop, Broxbourne CVS Chief Executive – Ian Richardson, Community Development Officer – Brian Cooke and B3Living resident Nicola Sayers.
Sandra Royer, Chair of the B3Living board said: “There have been enormous changes within the housing sector during these last 10 years. These changes have influenced everything, from how we develop homes to how we develop people.”
The 10th anniversary comes two months before the retirement of B3Living Chief Executive, John Giesen.
