Latest designs for the White House, Cheshunt High Street

Monday, 13 February 2023

We're sharing our latest designs for the White House site with the local community.

The plot on Cheshunt High Street has been an empty building site since the original White House buildings were demolished in 2020.

Although Covid delayed progress initially, we have been working closely with our architects, Rock Townsend, and Borough of Broxbourne Council to refine the plans based on feedback from neighbours and the needs of the local area. Listening to our community is very important to us.

Our revised designs are for a 36-home project, exclusively for affordable housing. This will make the new development 20% less dense than it was in the past.

We are also focusing on accessibility and sustainability. Each flat will be designed with provisions for residents with mobility needs (or who may develop needs as their lives change). There will also be a wheelchair-accessible home as well as multiple carbon-reduction measures, such as ground source heat pumps, higher energy efficiency and electric car charging.
