In the light of current events, we would like to reiterate B3Living’s commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
As an employer, we want everyone to enjoy working for B3Living, to feel valued and included, and to feel that opportunities are open to all. We aim to welcome and celebrate diversity, promote equality and to be inclusive. We provide diversity-related training for all staff. We monitor recruitment to check that we are attracting a wide range of applicants and to make sure that our processes are fair. We want our workforce to reflect the diversity of the community and are monitoring our ethnicity pay gap as well as our gender pay gap.
As a landlord, we need to provide services which are accessible to our diverse residents and we want people to feel safe in their homes, which includes being safe from harassment or abuse. We are a third party hate crime reporting centre. This means that anyone can report hate crime or hate incidents to us, regardless of whether they live in one of our properties or not. We use Language Line for interpreters when needed and we provide information in large print for people who request this.
However, whilst these are some examples of our current approach there is more that we can do.
We'll be using the coming weeks to open further discussions with our colleagues and plan to report to our Board on our equality, diversity and inclusion work in July.
