£1.2m to make our homes warmer

We've secured £1.2m to make our homes warmer

Through Wave 3 of the government's Warm Homes Fund, we'll be able to make 136 of our homes warmer.

The funding will enable us to improve the energy efficiency of 136 homes, which will be mostly blocks of flats, while significantly decreasing heating costs for our customers.

Two blocks of flats with solar panels on top. Lots of trees and a clear sky behind them

B3Living was a recipient of Wave 2.1 of the then Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) alongside settle and Watford Community Housing through the Greener Herts Consortium.

Since then, we have taken a fabric-first approach to reduce heat loss in close to 200 homes through improved insulation and newer, alternative sources of heating. Many of our customers are already benefitting from the upgrades and have reported that their home felt warmer this winter.

Thanks to the Warm Homes support, we will be able to expand our previous retrofitting efforts to reach a further 136 families. Works will include wall insulation, solar panels, more energy efficient windows and doors, and more.

B3Living’s Executive Director (Operations), Sophia Howells, commented:

“It is fantastic news to receive the Warm Homes Fund once again.

“We've made great steps towards net zero in the past year and this grant will help us deliver even more safe, sustainable homes over the next three years.

“Decarbonisation is an investment into our customers’ future; it’ll help tackle fuel poverty and improve our customers’ health while bringing us closer to meeting our net zero targets”.

We are committed to ensuring 100% of our homes are rated EPC C or higher by 2028, two years earlier than the government’s 2030 target for landlords.
