Since studying horticulture at college, Luke has always liked gardening but has struggled to find work in the area.
With the help of Amanda, our Customer Coach, Luke has been regularly going to the Harmony Garden to learn about permaculture, develop his gardening skills, and spend time with the small community of volunteers.
He is also being supported by the local social business that runs the garden, Wyld Edges, to find a suitable training course which will help him get a job once completed.
Gardening is just calming. It helps me mentally to clear my head when Iām stressed or upset.
Though he tends to his home garden ā weeding and caring for potted plants ā he enjoys the social aspect of the public garden.
He shared that people have noted an improvement in his confidence and that every time he leaves the garden, he feels happy that he spent time outdoors and socialising with people.
