We're celebrating our commitment to the Real Living Wage.
We are now accredited as a Living Wage Employer. Although we already make sure that everyone working at B3Living receives a minimum hourly wage of £9.90 in the UK (significantly higher than the government minimum for over 23s, which currently stands at £9.50 per hour), we have also made a commitment to ensure that those working in our properties employed by third parties also receive the living wage.
In our region, the East of England, over 15% of jobs pay less than the real Living Wage - around 392,000 jobs. Despite this, we have committed to pay the real Living Wage and deliver a fair day’s pay for a hard day’s work.
The real Living Wage is the only rate calculated according to the costs of living. It provides a voluntary benchmark for employers that wish to ensure their staff earn a wage they can live on, not just the government minimum. Since 2011 the Living Wage movement has delivered a pay rise to over 300,000 people and put over £1.6 billion extra into the pockets of low paid workers.

We've been committed to paying at least the living wage for some time, but now we're going further by making sure that those we work with - so our contractors and consultants - do the same.
As a social business, we see the impact of low wages in our work. So, I'm glad we are able to do our bit to promote a fair day's pay for everyone.
