The site on the former Bengeo Nurseries, to the northwest of desirable market town Hertford, represented an important opportunity to respond to an acute local need.
Hertford’s existing stock of 2,500 affordable housing is comparatively low, therefore we were pleased to be collaborate with Durkan and East Herts Council on a site which offered a substantial proportion of social housing (40% of the 52 homes overall).
The Stiles includes a range of property sizes to accommodate a variety of households. The local council established the mix of social housing to best meet their needs.
This site, located opposite the local primary school, was ideal for local families who would otherwise have been priced out of their hometown. Our shared ownership homes were in high demand and all sold, and we were pleased to officially open the homes in December 2022.
