Fire safety isn't an exciting topic...but it's essential.

If you're a leaseholder, but don't have a smoke alarm in your property, it's definitely worth getting one. It could end up saving your life.

Since 2015, all landlords are required to have a smoke alarm installed in their homes. This is to protect you and everyone else in the block, providing an early warning in the event of a fire and potentially saving lives.

Ensuring your home is equipped with a working smoke alarm is a simple yet crucial step toward keeping you and others safe. You can buy a smoke alarm for as little as £25.

Let’s work together to create a safer living environment for everyone. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

A working smoke alarm can increase your chances of staying safe during a fire by over 50%.

If you opt for battery powered alarms, those with ‘sealed for life’ batteries are a better choice over ones with replaceable batteries. Find out more

We recommend you follow the individual manufacturer’s instructions when installing the alarms. However, in general, smoke alarms should be fixed to the ceiling in a circulation space, i.e. a hall or a landing.

It's recommended that smoke alarms are tested every month to make sure they're working properly.
