Rubbish and bin collections are arranged by your local council - so it's a good idea to check their website to find out when your collection day is.
To help keep the bin areas clean and ensure your waste is collected by the council / disposed of correctly, please:
- Bag all your items in tied black bin bags. If your item is in anything other than a black bag then the council won’t take it away (this includes shopping bags, e.g. Tesco, Sainsbury's etc).
- Don’t dump large items such as mattresses, fridges and old furniture around the estate - the council won’t collect them.
- Don’t leave things next to the bin. They won’t go anywhere! Take big cardboard boxes or other large items to your local recycling centre if you can.
- Report, report, report. If you see someone fly-tipping, let us know. When we have evidence, we report and challenge those who do fly-tip to help prevent it from happening again.
