Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral fibre that was used in building materials before the year 2000. Asbestos content is common in materials such as some floor tiles and Aertex ceilings, which is why it’s important you let us know if you are planning to do any DIY or make any major alterations to your home.
Asbestos should always be treated with care. If it’s left alone and in good condition, generally it won’t be a problem as it cannot release fibre into the air.
- Report it to us, we might already have an asbestos survey for your home. Please contact us and we can let you know if there is any asbestos there.
- Take care not to disturb or damage asbestos.
- Do not drill holes, saw, sand, or scrape any material that you think could contain asbestos.
